Toyota Van Model Years

Toyota Van was the name given to the Toyota TownAce van in the US. It came out in 1984, toward the end of the line's second generation, and shared styling with the more upscale Toyota MasterAce Surf van. The passenger van body style came in DLX and LE trims, while the cargo van body style came in a CRG trim.

The van had a choice among I4 engines and between five-speed manual and three- and four-speed automatic transmissions. A rear-wheel drivetrain was available from the start, but four-wheel drive became available from 1987 on.

Notable features were many. For one, some models had a refrigerator and an ice maker between the front seats. Most had dual air conditioning, captain's chairs (the case for the LE trim from 1986 to 1989), and twin sunroofs. The LE trim also had a power window package available from 1986 to 1989 with fog lights included, not to mention color matched bumpers and front grille, headlight bezels made of chrome, and chrome Toyota emblems. The van line ran until 1989.
